Very weird thing happened today. We were cleaning the coop out and decided to do a deep clean and spray it down. We collected all the eggs and let the birds out. We were waiting for the inside to dry when we noticed our rooster "Sonic" had jumped into the nesting boxes. He was making funny noises and sitting in the box. We joked that maybe he was planning to go as a hen for halloween. Then he turned around, crowed and hopped out of the boxes. About 10 minutes later I walked out there to put the fresh bedding down. In that very same nesting box I found a rather large egg: 2.65 ounces. Now I know what most likely happened is a hen had laid in the box before he hopped in there and he was just very excited about it. But...I had a moment where I thought to myself...did Sonic lay an egg???
Ridiculous of course. But funny story and thought Id share
