My rooster passed and another on the way !! Please Help

I have made earlier post about my sick chickens. I had one hen die apprx week ago. I had 2 roosters sick so I quarantined them . I am treating the whole flock with Amprid (corid) . The one rooster was feeling better today and poop was solid again so... I let the rooster out of Q . I left to come back to him dead comb turned black and covering his face . Seemed to have lots of missing feathers on his side . My other rooster is only barley outside of his Q area and only laying there , i walked all the way to it and still no movement , you can see him taking his breaths . Please help what has happened to my chickens ?

I have no idea, but did you treat with Corid because you saw bloody poop? It is not an antibiotic, only treats cocci. I'm sorry, but I have no ideas about what happened. I think we'll need more information to even guess.

You really need to put some more info on here. I'm sure somebody out there knows what is wrong with your birds!

Please post why you treated with corrid. If the poop was really runny it may have been cocci, but it could have been something else. I do realize that people on this Forum use and even recommned Corrid. It is, however designed for calves and I am not sure it should even be used with chickens. I for one and I may be the only one DO NOT use penicillin, tylosin, bytril, corrid and the other assorted medications that people tend to use. i have seen people use scour meds for pigs and worming meds for horses and apparently NOT had adverse effects. There alway is though, one chicken that does not do well. What ever you do, please do post the recommended items to help the forum help you. Please do not feel as though I am flaming you, I did not under any circumstances mean to.

Indiscrimate use of medications is certainly a huge issue. The reason people use meds not approved for chickens is that there are none approved for chickens, which leaves your only option as culling every ill bird. I personally will never treat anything respiratory and I dont use antibiotics for even bumblefoot now. Corid, however, is probably one of the safest meds we use on our birds since it is a thiamine blocker, not an antibiotic at all. Yet, using Corid when you are not specifically treating for cocci is useless and a waste of money, time, meds, etc. When a bird has vague symptoms, use NO medications. All they may do is mask symptoms and you want the symptoms to surface so you can figure out what you're dealing with.
I really dont know what happened to the roosters and we need lots more information to even guess at a diagnosis.
