I can soooo imagine April saying that. He is the first rooster I would have to say protects his flock, feeds the babies and is no threat to humans. A rare combo.
The BCM only gets to stay because he is also really good to the flock and baby chicks. They sleep on his back at night. He just hates me because I take all the eggs from his women.
And people wonder if silkies will be OK in with their standards...
The only chicken I have that doesn't "obey" king April is my EE hen "Bubby" - she is the one who has ripped out most his bowtie flogging him every morning when he tries to get frisky.
