Frankie ( our Rooster ) usually gets our girls in the coop at night and takes his usual position in the rafters. Tonight when I went down to close everything up, he was on the top of our outdoor run. He has never done this before. My husband went down and somehow got him down and made him go in. Anyone have any suggestions to why he would refuse to go in?

maybe he upset one of the girls and she made him sleep out side LOL!!

I really dont know why he did not maybe he jumped up there and was scared to jump down so he just stayed there

Is this the only time he has done this? It is possible if he saw a predator he could have ben making sure it was gone before he went to bed. You may have seen it as him refusing to go in but once he was brought down from the roof he didnt protest to going to roost, so he may have been destracting or running off a predator.
