My rooster tries to fight me

All breeds are different but since Im not here to bicker about birds, a less aggressive breed is obviously a wiser choice.
 
This board is from December, I am sure the original poster has figured out their situation by now. Lavender orpingtons are amazingly calm and gentle normally, I am sure it was just that hormonal stage most roosters go through.

Or he went to the freezer lol

when are you going into the coop? why not just go in when they’re roosting and avoid the confrontation? i only go in the coop to refill feed and i always do it at night. i use a 200 lb hog feeder with a flock of 24...so it’s not often...but if i refill that or oyster shells at night and it doesn’t cause a raucous.
