My rooster wants to be a hen

Our BCM rooster (who is under a year old) has started mimicking the hen's "egg song" when they are in the box laying.... you know, the "bok bok bok bok BA-GOK! bok bok..."

Our old rooster who we sold earlier this year never did that. Sometimes this young roo even gets in a nest box beside a hen and scratches and sets just like the other girls.

Anyone else have a roo who apparently wants to lay an egg too?

Yeah, it happens. My rooster sometimes "supervises" the egg laying.

Lol. Mine are 19 weeks old and just started laying and I just figured out today about the "egg song". I got it on video today!! I wish my roosters acted like hens!! Lol the one can be quite a pain let's just say I dont take my eye off of him!!
