My rooster was fine,but in late afternoon when I came home he could not walk

Did you notice how red he was around his vent compared to the other skin right next to it that was white I wonder if I don't know it just looks awfully red to me but and he seems to be like hard on his back end right around there you know like hard

Yes, if the redness is right under the vent, it may just be hormones. I've seen that in my roosters, just monitor that area to see if the skin stays the same.

Has anyone said the M word? Could it be Mareks? Have you had new birds in the flock? Other birds get paralysis or go blind?

or malnutrition due to a feed issue from the manufacturer? Selineium, vit E, Vit D, Vit B.

I do hate that M word I'm praying it's not.My rooster is 5 years old ,no new chickens have been brought home.Two of my older hens who are like a couple years older than my rooster say 6 or7 died this year from egg cellulitis.when these are all gone then I'm taking a break from chickens,it's been heart wrenching to have to see them go from super healthy to sick and dying .I paid for vets ,meds,and whatever else was needed to help my two girls live out their lives as comfortably as possible.Ill do the same for my rooster,but I really want to fix him so....

That's funny you mention malnutrition due to feed issue from manufacturer,because I have noticed with my cat food I buy well it looks different lighter in color and my cat don't reAlly care for it anymore and after he eats he's hungary right away again.So now chicken scratch I don't know I buy pellets ,dried worms ,bird seed ,and oyster shells and mix it all together and feed it to them.

The Poultry Cell has riboflavin in it and is good for today, but don’t get B12. Get B complex or super B complex. That has all B vitamins in it. B12 is only B12 and not what you need. At Walmart Spring Valley, Equate, or Nature Made brands tend to be more affordable. I hope that he gets better, but at 5 years, that is older for a rooster. If he is starting to molt, that is also a hard time for them.

My life seems centered around them ,I just didn't realize their lifespans were so short.Seems like just yesterday we were watching the girls tugging on a rubberband one had found outside,it was so cute,they had a hard time trying to run with something in their beaks.lol chasing after each other trying to get that rubberband.my ol man freaked out of course and he was able to get it from them.i used to be an avid gardener truly enjoyed my flowers ,but once I seen how much the girls loved them ,I couldn't tell them no .catch them taking dirt baths in my flowerpots.lol.i could go on and on we now have Out of 8 hens we are down to 5 .2 passed this year from egg cellulitis.within months from each other .Yes we have a cemetery on the back lot.
