I was surprised, as it was only 7:23, not even close to dark. But I thought it was a pretty good shot.

Aw, he's a very handsome fellow! I have a small flock of 8 chickens and they will all go to roost extra early too around the same time as yours. My larger flock waits until it's almost dark before they go back into the hen house.
