Well my rooster's beak is in bad shape because he was trying to get through the chicken wire and i noticed that the top part of the beak has kinda split not in half but i think the top part of the beak, its hard to explain but the i think theres two different layers to the top part of the beak and now those two layers are separated and i was wondering if any could help me with this because my rooster doesnt seem to be eating a lot maybe because of this beak problem. Any help on how to help my poor rooster?

Chickens can recover from some serious injuries. Try feeding soft foods like yogurt, scrambled eggs, and mash. Good luck

could you super glue it

I was thinking about super gluing it too. Anybody can back me on that? or have tried that?

That's the thing, super glue can be really tricky and that's why if i put it on i have to be precise. Hm..because I'm pretty sure that's the main reason why hes not eating as much. but it dries so quick though too. I was thinking of putting a rubberband to wrap around his beak but i heard chicken's beaks are really sensitive. Idk what to do.

my roo got his stuck in the hardware cloth and ripped it.. i didn't glue it incase there was dirt under the lifted up part it would cause an infection and i couldn't clean it good enough to make sure the yucky stuff was out of it. so i left it alone. he lost the rest of it in about a week.. it died back and fell off..he is fine today.. his lower beak is longer than the top but he eats and drinks fine.. it took a bit he was so sore he wouldn't use it.. before and after shots. he still mates too lol

Wow your rooster's beak is worst than mine. Do you know beaks ever grow back? And yours eat fine? With the stomach sach full and everything? Because my rooster stomach sach thing has hardly anything in it. Mine was mating today too haha

it is extremely tender.. it took about a 3 days before he would eat.. i took a coffee cup and filled it with water.. then i took another and put his food and softened it with water and yogurt .. they were deep and he could reach in easily. i thas been about 2 months now and he actually can pick grass and clover and pick up scratch off the dirt so he is fine. the beak has roots at the base under the comb if it breaks there it will not come back.. if it breaks lower and the roots survive it can grow back

It is like your finger nail, except you don't eat with yours. If you rip it, it is very tender and sore. Like suggested above, wet down his food so he can eat, even cheap canned dog food that is mushy would be good, something soft he can pick up. It will take time to grow if the roots aren't damaged, which is pretty rare to happen.
