We was given 14 chickens newly hatched to raise and start a flock of our own. Four ended up as hens and the other ten was roosters. They are now 6-7 months old and today we had to seperate two of the roosters due to them fighting each other. We are planning on selling the extra roosters and buy more hens, and had tried to seperate them in another pen, but it didn't work to stop them from fighting. They got worse so we moved them all back to the big pen today. When we did, two roosters got into a very bloody fight and had to be broke apart. Talking to my cousin today after all of this had happened, she told me that because of the warm weather that we recently had for a few days caused the rooster's hormones to increase. I believe that she may be right due to the fact that breeding in chickens is higher in Spring time.
