My Rosie is limping!

Chickens were dewormed just before new egg laying season began so to avoid interruption of increased production. Rosie is 11 months old and has had no egg issues. She laid one on the second day since being confined. Her poop looks normal. @LaFleche

That does sound quite good, so we direct the attention to her legs and feet:

Did you already check her soles for any lesion, thorn, splinter or sign of bumblefoot?

I’m thinking she hasn’t laid since due to the stress of confinement. Is that possible?
That might be possible, but could also be an indication of the above mentioned reproductive issues.
How big was the egg she last laid? How did the shell look?
Sometimes when the egg is passing through the oviduct on the left side it might get stuck or being very big thus putting pressure on the sciatic nerve which leads to limping.

What do you feed for calcium supplement? Limping might also be caused by lack of calcium.

She’s a Blue Wheaten Amauracana and lays quite small blue eggs as does her sister. Her last egg was normal. I feed back all eggshells and keep a good supply of oyster shell in both the coop and the run. I have checked her feet and see no problems. No sign of bumblefoot. I have a Frost White Legbar that lays a regular sized but not large blue egg wherever she darn well wants to, usually on the coop floor or in the run. (It’s Easter egg hunting time every day because of her) I suppose it is possible that the rare time I find a bigger egg in the nest I am assuming it is Kitkit the Legbar. Maybe it was Rosie? I will be keeping a close eye on this while she is confined. Meanwhile I’m hoping it’s a sprain.

Just had Bern help me look closer. I saw what looked like a piece of dirt much the same color as her foot pad. As I picked it off it revealed a small indent/hole without any pink/red or exudiate of any type. Here’s the kicker. Today she is holding up her right foot! Ok, back I go, nope, nothing. But her fluffybutt feathers have white dried matter. She has no roost in the cage so I’m sure she’s sitting in a bit of poop at some point. I cleaned it away. I feel like I’m starting over! Let’s see if she lays an egg!
Speaking of egg, Kitkit laid in the nest today! Sneaky little bugger. So I know this is her bigger egg and the little one is Rosie’s sister Posey’s egg. The dark is one of my Marans. You can see size differences.

Did you happen to see her fight with another hen? They kick each other in the front and abdomen which can lead to a broken egg, limping and if the broken egg can not be passed to severe infection and death.

This happened this spring with one of my Olive eggers kicking a smaller Isbar hen. I had to put her down after three days because of the overall infection.

There was a bit of a tussle one day, can’t remember if it was her or her almost identical sister being pinned down by a hen. But Rosie laid an egg the day after I put her on the cage and it was perfect. It’s been 5 days in the cage. I do watch for penguin walks but nothing like that yet.
