Im just wondering if anyone knows anything about royal palm turkeys, i have one hen and one gobbler. Pretty sure they are good to have eggs, But have not seen any yet. What kind of living conditions do they need to be in to get an egg out of the hen turkey. Any special feed i need to feed them. Im feeding them layer crumble, cracked corn, cracked corn and grain blend. table food. and no eggs yet.

I have R P's. Here the turkeys start laying the last of March through about Sept. or 1st of Oct.How old are your R. P's?They'll lay when nature calls. The feed sounds good, just not too heavy on the corn, especially in the summer. It makes them hot.

Too much corn will also make them fat, which can interfere with production. I would actually suggest that you give them a good gamebird feed instead of the layer. The tom doesn't need the extra calcium, and gamebird is higher in protien.

I am NEW to turkeys BUT I do have a wonderful set of palms and eggs.
We had ours free range and they slept in the tree near the roost. Then we got
a very bitter wave of winter go threw with a blizzarrd in fact. So I put them in the
smaller pen with the back "condo" hutch. You know they stared going in everynight
and the turkey whisper in me thinks they were happy.. Two weeks later she has been
laying eggs everyday from what I can tell. Now I have been told March as well for the norm.
Im happy as a calm she is doing this inside for sure.
