My Runner abandoned nest

My runner duck has been sitting on eggs for 24 days. I noticed when she gets up to eat she's staying gone from the longer and longer. She's pretty much abandoned them completely at this point. I brought one inside and looked at it with a candle and it's moving around. What should I do?

If you have an incubator I suggest you finish the process. Runners are not known to be the best brooders but there are exceptions from time to time.

Get em someplace warm and humid if you don't have an incubator, not sure your location, but even putting a small cloth in the bottom of a crock pot and putting it on warm will help if you don't have a incubator to put them in, and get em one tomorrow

Like the crock pot idea but you would have to switch it on and off and watch the temperature close

Thank you caffeine deprived this time of night, it's only a temp fix also until something proper can be attained. my sister gathered an egg one day and forgot she had set it on top of the water heater for some reason, until she couldn't figure out where the funny sound was coming from, a lone chick hatched out on top of the water heater lol

My Runners have never gone broody. Way to busy.
