My first hatch of goslings hatched in the last 2 days. I bought 15 goose eggs at a sale (10 Seebie and 5 African or Embden). I had 1 male Seebie hatch at 30 days, an African the same day, then 3 female Seebies the following day. From what I hear a 33% hatch from bought eggs isn't bad on geese. I still have 4 more eggs in the bator and it has only been 12 hours since the last one hatched so I may get a couple more.

Now I just need to find a couple more African Goslings to buy so the singlet doesn't have an identity crisis!!

And if my adult Seebies would decide to lay a few eggs I'd be set!

Oh congrats! Can't wait to see the pictures! I just set my seb eggs yesterday (6 shipped eggs, 2 with broken air cells) and I would be so happy if I got just one!!!

dumb question..how can you tell male from females in hatchlings?

In most sebastopol flocks the females *usually* have grey over their back and heads while the males are solid yellow. BUT, this is not always the case, especially if you have a color gene in your flock. So the only sure way to sex them is by vent sexing....
