**Please Help**

My silkie chicken has become sick over night, She was completely fine on the 23rd of may and now its the 26th and she's has become very sick and not wanting to eat. She was completely fine and woke up weak with green poop. We love her so very much and she comes for afternoon walks with us everyday. Please help as we will be heart broken with she passed.

Have you checked her out for internal and external parasites? Could she have gotten into some tainted feed? Or is she getting enough food ( is she being bullied by other chickens at feed time or is she low on the totem pole) Green poop is bile and it means she hasn't eaten in a while. She needs to be hydrated and given electrolytes. She probably needs to be tube fed. Here is an excellent link about tube feeding.

Thank you very much. She is alive at the moment and have started tube feeding her since she was not feeding herself. Her poop has changed color to a yellowish color. She has also had about 3 seizures , that we have seen. Also has been shaking alot. She is inside with warm blankets and being giving water every 2-3 hours. We have wormed her. Is there anything else we can do? or have a idea of what it could be? Thank you.

How old is she? Do you have electrolytes or Poultry NutriDrench that you can give her? Try mixing a small amount of chick feed in a small cup with a lot of water, and a little egg mixed up and hold it up to her. Green poop is a sign that she is not eating enough. Yellow poops can be other things. Perhaps a picture of poop and of her would be helpful. Depending on her age and any other symptoms, coccidiosis or something else might be a possibility. Coccidiosis causes lethargy, runny poops, weakness, poor appetite, and hunched posture. Treatment is Corid (amprollium) from the feed store in the water for 5-7 days.

She is around 8 months old. Her green poop has gone now we have started making chick starter and mixing it in with water. We have also tried egg and biscuit mix. We have wormed her and have her on OXYMAV B antibiotics, and she has improved with her constant shaking and seizures. Her shaking starts, when you unwrap her from a blanket she is in and without the blankets she doesn't stop. She has more movement now compaired to yesterday. I will have a look at the electrolytes, but living in Australia. Thank you so very much for all your help.

Sorry yes, we have checked her for parasites & and treated her for them.
I don't think she would of gotten into tainted food because of clean food everyday and old food gets put in the bin. She does not get bullied either, she is low on the totem pole but gets her feed everyday without being bullied. I think the green poop would have been from not eating because now we are tube feeding her it has gone away and is now yellowish color. Thank you for your help.

She is alive again today and doing a bit better. She is starting to drink again by herself and we are giving her watered down egg and biscuit and she will eat it. Thank you for everyones help :)

You can make some electrolytes with 5 grams of sugar, a pinch of salt, and a liter of water. Baby electrolytes, such as Pedialyte will also work. Baby liquid vitamins 2-3 drops daily are also good.

It is good to hear that she is doing better and eating some. You can add some heat if she still is shivering or seems cold. Many use heat pads for heat. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
