I have separated Olive from the flock. Olive is a olive egger who is 3 years old. She is slightly wheezing, breathing with beak open. Wheezing is very faint. Fed her this morning a raw egg, watermelon and pieces of mango. She is eating well. Poop is like a green slurry. Never had a sick chicken and vet resources here are limited. Is there anything more I can do for her. The heat in Fla has been hard on the rest of the flock. At noon time I usually mist, and give cold watermelon to the girls.

I just dealt with a probable heat stroke chick about 12 weeks old. If this is it, mine took two days to finally eat/drink on her own. Rather like in a stupor, it seemed. The green poop was from emaciation.

I gave her electrolytes, then made her crumbles into a mash with raw egg and a few drops of poultry cell. I had to force feed her this (made it into balls and put the balls in her beak.)

As long as she's eating/drinking, that's a good sign! I'd give electrolytes and some vitamins too. Perhaps it'd be better to start with just the electrolytes for a day first, then give vitamins the next day, and skip a day after that so she doesn't get diarrhea.

Thanks Debbie, She is doing so much better today. Wheezing has subside greatly. She is drinking lots of water and eating well. Didn't notice any loose stools today. Can't wait to return her to her flock. This Florida sun can be hard on everything.
