Hello all,

I am really concerned about my silkie. She is about 6 years old and has recently started keeping one of her eyes shut. She seems to be eating and drinking fine. However, there is a white spot in her eye. If you look closely at the top left of her eye there appears to be a white spot. Does anyone have any clue what this may be?

Could it be an eyeworm?

Her eye also appears to be slightly swollen.

Thank you for your quick reply. We do not have any cockroaches in our area but are cockroaches the only way a bird can get an eyeworm? Also what would be the ideal treatment for eyeworms?

Thank you very much. I am really hoping its something easily curable. I hate having to see her in pain.

Did you ever find out what it was? My silkie is also having eye problems, has a white spot but it's not on the eye but in the corner like a sty or something.
