i have 2 pairs of white silkies that i bought some hours b4....age aound 3 to 3.5 months...they ate after an hour but not drinking and after 4 to 5 hours, they are still not drinking, i tried to let them drink forcefully...i mean put there beak under the water, but when i take out there beat, they are not drinking...(the same practice i did with other breeds and they drink if i put there beak in the water for a second and take out ...they drink)
so waht can i do? is it something serious or they will start drinking after sometime....what else i can do for this?
pls help as silkies are very sensitive and go down so oftenly

thnx and regards

They may just not be thirsty!
Just watch them carefully, make sure they're still eating.
Are they in a really hot or cool place?

Maybe also try having them eat watermelon.
That also can help hydrate them and give them water.
Hope this helps!

thnx for ur reply chickfuentes...
yes they ate...i give them wheat powder mixed with water then made the worm like shape so they ate it happily...and now its night so they are sleeping....watermelon is not available yet...actually there season in our country is just gone, i m planning to give them something green and put some water on it,,its my past experience tht chicks love coriander leaf...so i will try this tomorrow...i dont know how they will eat tomottoe..i mean how i have to cut them tht they eat...i will also try this

How do you know they are not drinking? Have watched them for the whole time. All my chicks including my silkies drink water all day,but i don't always notice them drinking.

yes i watched around 1 hour...actually...there traveling time was around 3 hours frm there old house to my house, then i put them in the cage and give them feed and water and watching them, then i give them wheat powder in which water was mixed.....after tht they go in a corner and tried to sleep, then i realized they didnt drink, so i try to put there beak under the water one by one, but noone showed any interest and again after some minutes they gathered in corner and tried to sleep....after tht i was in tension....this is why i dropped this question here
