My Silver Duckwing Project PIC HEAVY

On a different note: I noticed one of my youngest silver pullets limping today so I chased her down and scooped her up. She seems to have a broken middle toe so I tugged at it and popped it back into place and bandaged her up (I'm a certified Veterinary Assistant).
Here she is :)

She sat in this position without moving or saying a word the whole time I was working on her.

Well even though nobody seems very interested in this thread :/ I will keep it open to post pictures and updates as my project progresses. Even if it's just for my own amusement ;)

My main flock consists of 1 EE roo, and my hens are 3 each of EEs, Buff Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex, Polish, Black Giants, Welsummers, and Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.

Can someone please tell me if these birds are the Silver Duckwing coloration or not? Would the last roo I posted be a good match for them?

Thanks so much :)

I would use the last roo over the first columbian looking one if you want silver duckwing colored birds. The hens could get there in a couple years, just breed them together and select for the best pattern/color. Based on the pullets, I'd say they are from the welsummer hens or maybe the EE hens. Keep us updated. I know Jean Ribbeck (pips&peeps) breeds silver ameraucanas, try her for eggs/birds

That would make sense! I only get the silver duckwing colored cockerels with yellow legs (from the wellies possibly or my BLR Wyandottes also have yellow legs). The hens all have green legs. Maybe the leg color is sex linked in this cross? I can't wait until the oldest one lays to see the egg color, which should be very soon! :) Once she starts to lay that will help to clear up where to go from here.

There is interest.
Just keep on documenting your progress. There are people watching.
I have 1 silver EE hen left. She is one of 2 possible mothers ( I use to have 2 silvers) to my project rooster (Crested Buff Laced EE).

I planned on keeping this thread going but it was a little disheartening when I would get no replies :/ Thank you for your interest :) Does your silver hen look anything like mine? Your project sounds like an interesting one! I would love to see a photo of your roo. I have several Polish/EE crosses that I am holding back to make a project out of. Perhaps I will make thread about them too ;)

yes some people just like to read and watch ur progress as i have been i think silver ducking in amaracanas is a good idea and hope everything works out for u :)
