My soil is coming alive so it's about time to start some seeds.

I am so antsy to get my garden going. I currently have 9 trays of my seedlings growing inside of my cold weather vegetables. that I’m going to move out in the next 2 weeks. Then I get to start my warm weather vegetables inside. I am also attempting to grow some lingonberry seeds and bilberry we shall see how that goes.

Last frost date here is May 30th, so I still have a bit of time yet. I figure if I start planting seeds around the 1st of April +/- a week my tomatoes and peppers should be decent size by the 30th of May. Right now, my soil mix is a bit "hot" for planting seeds in and still has to "cook" for about a week. By then the Trichoderma, Bacillus and the Mycorrhizae I inoculated the soil mix with should have a good bit of the organic nutrients broke down for the plants.

Me three, this is the latest I've had to wait to get things going. Hoping to seed radishes and arugula next week!

I did initial prep on 3 out of 5 long beds today: had fall leaves on top so I mixed those in/pushed them under, then topped with my homemade compost, and a good sprinkle of soil amendment. Need to harvest some chicken run compost and add a few buckets of that to each bed for good measure.

Small asparagus bed is done (top dressed and amended) but probably won't see any shoots until April.

I'll probably do initial prep on the 2 remaining beds tomorrow, as that gives me about 2 days to sift through as much chicken litter as I can, and then I can spend Friday trimming the last large hedge at end of driveway, and then all my pre-spring prep will be done!

@Chris2018 where are you located in general? No fun to not know on a garden forum. You can put it in your profile. I’m in Ohio, zone 6A.

I have peppers started, and plan to start tomatoes soon. The peppers are slower to start even with a heat mat, so they get started before tomatoes.
I'm in N.E. Ohio and I'm Zone 6A. On some maps it's just Zone 6. My last frost date is April 30th.
Yes, peppers will take a bit longer to germinate at 7 to 14 days, but I usually have peppers pop out of the soil at 5 days.
