Hi
I wanted to add my baised opinion.
Lol meaning I only own the old turner.
I like it more in style it can hold any size egg that i have: banty, duck, and chicken. It works very well for me and I agree with the even heating. Better air exchange I think.
thats my 2 cents

ok, I have both and use both and here is my 2 cents worth!

Old style turner. Works good, like the rubberized fingers that hold most any size egg from cochin to large duck egg. Adjustable is nice. Seems to heat well because of (imho) the metal rack system. I think the metal holds the temp in the bator better eliminating spikes. It scares me a little on the bigger eggs in the middle section...I am afraid they will topple out into the middle cracking the eggs....so to eliminate this, I just put the bigger eggs in the middle of each side.

The new style turner. Works ok, same issues as the old style. Also temp spikes, eggs cold on the bottom moreso than on the top. Seems the plastic does not hold heat very well. eggs move freely in the rack and don't have much stability. I suppose if you got creative, you could drill small holes in each egg cup to allow more air movement.

Overall, I have had good and bad hatches in each type. it is a tossup but I think if I had my preference, I would choose the older model for the stability issues.
