I bought him as a 2 day old from RK...
He fell asleep in my hands every nite.. I carried him around. I gave him 2 hens to snuggle up to( ok ,so they are chickens)I loved on him.. had him even in my house to bond with me...

Now.. he wants to flog me and peck my eyes out.His name is Tyson. He is a Slate Tom, and very handsome. In its own right.. somehow. He is a gorgeous bird but damn, he hates me..lol ..I had bought another turkey but it turned out to be another tom.. so he stayed with the 2 chicken hens and boy, he protects them fiercely.I hope he grows out of it.I have been using a garden rake to defend myself and to keep him at bay when I walk to my car or check the mail. He has a huge pen with the 2 hens and on shitty days he stays inside ,and he can roost and stuff.. it has a metal roof and he stays dry..

He over bonded to you. You should handle and interact with poults but not so much that they forget you are a different species. He's now trying to dominate you. I don't think you can change these behaviors now. Next time don't handle them so much, especially the cuddling.

So I'm reading this thread.. having a little chuckle.. and then I realise it's a future prediction for me!

Eeeekkkkkk
I go out of my way to make sure that my poults do not imprint on me in order to avoid these types of situations.

It’s true...I’ve ruined 3 roosters. I imagine young turkeys are similar when their hormones begin to kick in too. They only got older stronger and more aggressive. I can’t imagine the damage a turkey could do. Yikes

His hormones are probably kicking in, I'm sorry! He doesn't hate you, but it's just that he's trying to dominate you. Try leaving him alone for a while.
I have been around a number of toms that were hand raised by others. There is only one cure and that is to process them.

There are ways to show a turkey that you are dominant but the problem is that they will never stop trying.

I do agree It is near impossible to change a turkeys mind. Many of the suggested dominance techniques only rile them up more. I have not had a truly aggressive Tom, only a couple of hens. We eventually butchered them because it would not stop no matter what I tried.

I cant " process" him ,he aint a meat bird..:( he is skinny as a rail and beautiful to boot.
I just dela with it.. I guess I was overly hands on on him.Lesson learned.Hopefully we can find him a girl soon..lol
