I was just wondering if it was normal for a tom to not have the greatest balance when mating the hen...I'm almost afraid the idiot will hurt himself. He's very awkward and keeps falling off mid stream of getting his business accomplished. Is he maybe retarded? Will he eventually get it right....cause I AM NOT helping him! The pair is young and the hen is just now letting him, so is he just over eager or what? Also, when can I expect eggs from her. They've been rather busy for 3 days. DD13 and her friend got the suprise of their life when she was coming out from checking for eggs in the coop this morning...shoulda seen their faces, they almost stepped on them.
When will they settle down? Sorry for all the newbie questions, this is our first pair, and their first mating season....guess I just didn't expect so much drama after having the chickens. I think DD's friend is scarred for life....
