I have my intro done, I'll type it up tomorrow. All I have to do is cite something from the bible and make my thesis statement "stronger" and my intro will be fully complete. Then comes the body, bleh. My point is to let my class know that we had a common ancestor alongside with the chimps and that Adam and Eve weren't the first.. Such and such. I believe neanderthals had souls even though we drove em' to extinction. They had emotion, they buried their dead, ehmm I forget the other stuff I saw in that doc in NatGeo, such a long time ago. Wish I could watch NatGeo again, but with Dish you have to pay extra for extra channels. All the channels I loved not available.. I see no reason for the tvs in the rooms in this house.

I have to ask my teacher if there will be any debating during the speeches. If not I'm not sure how my interaction with the class will be graded. I'm barely social with them as it is.

Who's We? I thought Neandrethal was just one, in a long line of many, which got us to where we are, today. In 10,000 years, who will the We be, which drives the current human race to extinction?

You really need to get over the whole, Humans are evil and deserve to be destroyed, mentallity.

If that documentary was the same as I seen-- one branch of science says neanderthals interbred with cro-magnon.

Another guy said they ate their dead. Practiced fratricide and other such things.

I didn't mean for you to use Wikipedia for a reference, but to use it as a starting point for finding references. It usually has a decent bibliography and links to other pages with decent bibliographies. Any open edited source like Wikipedia isn't a good source.

That is true. If you go to one place as a source, it will also show you 10 more that could be useful.

Get a copy of the Dakes Annotated Reference Bible by Finis Jennings Dake he has a very unique theory on creation. It would be a very helpful tool. Some of the things he addresses are the dateless past, and pre-adamic earth, Luciphers' flood to name a few.

I think it is an interesting topic. I like religious studies. My personal belief is that Adam and Eve were just the first humans to be set apart by God, called to interact with the higher power. Of course there were other humans on the earth. The bible is full of stories that have been passed down throughout history and if you read other stories of the same time, you will find similarities of biblical accounts. The Epic of Gilgamesh is one example, a very old story from the Sumerians. Good luck on your report.

I'm not sure what you mean by the last sentence. Humans are awesome and I have alot of human friends. I enjoy studying humans, I really like anthropology, which is a big reason as to why I chose this topic for my essay and speech. And hey I'm a human too! And you're a human too :p
By "we" I meant early humans. Cro-magnons, call em' whatever ye like. Either neanderthals couldn't compete, or we absorbed them, but they're extinct. They're not part of the direct line of our still continueing evolution. Scratch my previous sentence in my previous response, I've learned today that neandertal was most likely a sub-species. Our "cousins" so to speak.
I borrowed a bible from the anatomy teacher today and what I found was a little too brief for me. I read the Adam and Eve story... The biggest thing that struck me was that it said Adam had flocks, I'm guessing sheep. Domesticated sheep. Since the story was too brief and my brain putting things together was too brief, I've decided to talk about the timeline a little bit more. After the timeline is done THEN I will talk about our ancestors. I'm not saying that the Adam and Eve story is wrong entirely (I'm as stubborn as most people) so my best guess is that they were ancient humans. And I need to research when sheep were domesticated from a factual website or book. The domestication is a big part, it can tell me alot about Adam and Eve. But considering Adam and Eve were in an advanced part of our history, persuading the class shouldn't be too hard. I believe it's the lack of knowledge and what's out there that has people thinking only one thing.
I know some people who are absolutely "nope nope G-d said this happened so thats the way it is". It will only be a challenge to persuade the stubborn. But for the open-minded and logical, not that hard. If only Charles Darwin was still here (one of my heroes).
