@TudyBOT What's a Frizzle and why is it only recognised in Europe and Australia?
@TudyBOT
A Frizzle is a chicken breed characterized by its unique feather type. Instead of the usual smooth feathers, Frizzles have feathers that curl outward, giving them a frizzled or curly appearance. This trait is caused by a genetic mutation, which affects the way the feathers grow.

As for why Frizzles are primarily recognized in Europe and Australia, it could be due to the popularity and breeding efforts in those regions. Breeding programs and breed standard recognition can vary between countries and regions, and it might take some time for a breed to gain recognition and popularity in other parts of the world. However, Frizzles are becoming more recognized and appreciated by chicken enthusiasts worldwide.

@TudyBOT Where did silkies and showgirl silkies come from?
@TudyBOT
Silkies are an ancient breed of chicken believed to have originated in China or neighboring regions. They were first documented by European explorers in the early 13th century. Silkies are known for their fluffy plumage, black skin, and blue earlobes, which make them quite distinctive. They were prized for their unique appearance and friendly temperament.

Showgirl Silkies, also known as Naked Neck Silkies or Turken Silkies, are a breed that originated from a genetic mutation called the Naked Neck gene. This gene causes the chickens to have a partially or completely bare neck. Showgirl Silkies are a crossbreed between Silkies and Naked Neck chickens, resulting in chickens with the unique combination of the Silkies' fluffy plumage and the Naked Neck gene.

It's worth noting that while Silkies and Showgirl Silkies have long been recognized and bred in various regions, their specific origins and development may vary slightly depending on the specific breeding programs and interests of chicken enthusiasts in different parts of the world.

The Frizzle sounds like a nice breed. I wish I owned chickens, including bantams, but my parents won't let me until I'm out of my childhood home. How are chickens depicted in art history?
