My 7 and 1/2 year old turkey hen's legs are very red. Is this ok?? I never noticed it before so I'm wondering. We're having an exceptionally cold, snowy winter here. Could that be the reason??

Otherwise she seems perfectly fine. Eats like a horse. Free ranges in the day. Seems to be ok in every other way. I'll post a picture if that would help.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I love my girl and want the very best for her.

Hope y'all have a GREAT EVENING!!

I took a picture of her, but it didn't turn out very well, so I'll try again tomorrow. It was cloudy today (and snowing), so the picture was kinda dark. I'll try to get one on here tomorrow though. She and my tom are 7 and 1/2 years old.

It's what the old timers call "shooting the red" . It means the days are getting longer and your turkeys hormones are kicking in - turkey love is in the air.
