My turn! What kind of duck is this?

Do Black Swedish babies look like this one?

I would be so surprised if it was one, because there are SOOOO many ducks in this neighborhood. But....not sure what kinds of ducks were started in the neighborhood...some one somewhere had to go get a few ducks from a store, so, who knows. I am pretty sure it is a mix....well, I AM sure since the mom is your regular run of the mill brown mallard.

But, no matter....she is dang cute, isn't she? Especially when she was a brand spanking new baby.

A VERY cute one!!

I will have to agree....I was figuring, after being on this forum for a while now, that it could be some kind of call.

Thanks!

Very pretty duckling

Some ducks just grow really, really slowly for some reason. She may end up the same size as the others, eventually. But if she stays little then she will make a really cute duck!!!

Obviously she shares a number of the colour and pattern genes that a Swedish duck has, but she cannot be a Swedish. As bayyjayy says, the mother is a Mallard. So this duckling is a cross-bred black duck with a white bib.

It can't be a Swedish, it is way too small. If it were a Swedish it would be the same size as the Cayugas. I would agree with the call/mallard cross.
