My two Buff Orpingtons-same age and such a difference in their faces!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I will try to get a good full body photo of Big Buffy this afternoon when the run is completely shaded-she (

I don't think it's a rooster at all. My BO are the same age and one has a huge waddle and comb and the other has a very small one. And they are both hens because they are both laying! What is its behavior? I say they are both females. Some just take longer to develop.

This gives me hope because to my inexperienced eye their body feathers look the same and they basically act similar-except Sweetie is the one that will let me pet her-Big Buffy is nervous when it comes to that. I will post a good photo this afternoon. Thanks all!

Here's my BO at 14 weeks. Granted her comb and wattle are not as big as yours but they are definitely turning red. I remember going out one morning and looking at her and thinking, what are you so embarrassed about because she was so red.

And while I'll admit, yours does have a larger comb and wattle and they are red, I still think hen.

A full body shot would help cuz I think you'd be seeing saddle feathers at this point. It was around the time this photo was taken that we determined that our Cuckoo Marans was indeed a roo.

With my buff roos the differance in them and the pullets was very clear at a much younger age than this.
The roos also started crowing well before 16 weeks. I think maybe it could be a hen. Would like to see the
full body pics.

I have a BO and who is suppossed to be 21 weeks now. By the looks of these pictures mine is nowhere near as developed. Now I'm beginning to wonder how old my girl is. She looks so young compared to yours.
