I had this silkie chick that had me stumped with its color and the way it was feathering in. I thought this chick was so ugly but recently he has started to grow in his feathers and has started to turn into a very beautiful bird. He is turning into a splash cockerel that is very interested in everything going on around him. I don't have to worry about my girls very much but my other cockerels better behave, I really just wanted to show some pictures of him. This is him at 4 or 5 weeks, not very pretty at all.

This is him today at 9 weeks. I think he is going to be amazing when fully feathered out. Love the colors he is turning.

I didn't know what to think of him. I thought something was wrong with it the way his feathers were growing it. I almost got rid of him but I am so glad I didn't now. He is trying into a very nice looking roo.

All chicks go through what I call their dinosaur stage, but silkies (in my opinion) have it the worst. They go through a stage where they are just ugly and the only thing that makes me keep them is the fact that I know they will be pretty one day. =P Your sure is turning out to be a beautiful one. :)

He doesn't have a name yet. I haven't found one that fits him yet. He runs the yard and doesn't let anyone fight or act up, he breaks it up.
