YEAH! I love getting the "first" egg - after that it's still fun - but not the same

It was just as much fun today when I got my second egg. This time they left it in the nesting box instead of in the middle of the coop floor.

It's Christmas before Christmas!

Our Marilyn, a white cochin, gave us our first egg ever saturday! Since, she honored us of 3 eggs in 4 days!!! And yet we thought we would have to wait longer for our first egg since they don't have electricity in there and days are so short right now...

Congrats!! My Lavender Favorelle/Orpington splits layed the day after I got them to their new coop. I was just as surprised. I have two of them and still don't know if they are both laying on alternate days or one is freeloading.

I also have four brown leghorns and up until this weekend only one was laying. This weekend I got two more peewees from two of her sisters but Monday and today I only got one medium egg so, the two peewee late bloomers are taking a break from their first.

Alas, I am totally looking forward to more eggs per day SOON!!!
