My very first eggs!!

Ok, so... from what I’ve been researching, I can let them remain in a basket on the counter. Correct? They don’t HAVE to go in the refrigerator, right? I’m just wanting to let them build up a little, but if i have to put them in the fridge, then I will. I’m not washing them cause I’ve also read that it isn’t necessary.

You are absolutely correct! They can remain on the counter for up to 3 weeks unless you wash them. Washing removes the protective bloom. If you wash them they have to go in the fridge. In the state of Nebraska, if you wish to distribute them, they must be washed, not sure about that rule in other states.

Today is the FIRST time I heard my one and only layer make some noise after laying. I thought something was going on in the run or coop.... nope, she had just laid her egg and wanted everyone to know about it.:clap:bun:lau

Gorgeous bird!

Plans for the first eggs??
I did already eat the first 2... just common breakfast and they were so good! Now I’m just letting them grow in numbers since I’ve only got one girl laying still. There are at least 2 more girls showing signs that they may start, but I’m just being patient.
