my very own micro farm

So this morning I was out looking at the new chicks with the Misses and didn't see the bantam running around, took me a minute to realize the little bugger was buried in the bare spot on its moms back. Complete master blaster status, I mean this little chick is all about it. I know all little chicks innately hop on their moms backs but this one takes the cake.
It's the little things that make you smile.

Newest hatch, all still coming. Shes dead set on the eggs too so i think theres more to come. We'll see what happens with this afternoons heat. The tiny chick in the last picture we just got a glimpse of but i believe its a cross between the D'uccle bantam and the smaller of thr freeranging game hens. Has the coloring of the keslo but is so small and has little feathers on its legs.

More to catch up on later.

Onwards and upwards

that was a good hatch. Had to help 3 out of the pile as they fell to far in to climb out. Sure looks like alot all gathered together. Especially considering my duck number just doubled

and and and theres another mallard thats not to far behind with about as many eggs. Lol.
Guess thats all the duck news for now. ill try for pictures in a bit, she actually flew at the misses when she bent over to put the two ducklings down we had.

Always onward and upwards

Just went to check on my incubator and one of the bulbs was blown! Literally blown, glass everywhere. Must not have been for too long it was only down 3 degrees in that corner. New bulb in and some of the glass cleaned up, and already back to temp
