my very own micro farm

Wow. Yin and yang man! Freaking unbelievable. Just as I have new chicks coming into this world as I stand on my porch preparing to step out for work and I'm watching my ducks come across the driveway only to witness a hawk fly down and snatch one of the two week olds right out of the middle of the group. Seriously mind is blown.
Not much I can do about it now, ducks are back on the pond and probably will be for the remainder of the day.

Whoooaaa!!! A day of Life and Death!
That's 'farming' for ya!

Was an interesting day yesterday. Certainly some ups and downs. We are currently up to six of the 9 chicks hatched out and in the brooder. I missed two coming out with the busy night we had, but my better half was there to take care of everything while i was at work. The chick in the top corner is still working on getting out, almost complete unzipped the shell and there's still the two eggs with no pips. But I'm patient and everything is holding fine in the tank so a little longer won't hurt.

Thanks again for watching everyone we now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Onwards and upwards
