my very own micro farm

Pics
There's pictures from the E R. When they gave me some really strong stuff and a finger block. Couldn't feel a thing and could still barely look enough to get a couple pictures. Here we are a few days later and its pretty uncomfortable, I can't imagine them cleaning it is going to feel good either. They've got me on good antibiotics and this thing is wrapped up good and secure and sterile.
Back to chain calling edd til I get through

Fridays visit was quite painful and am hoping for gentler bedside manner tomorrow at the specialist.
To angry for any photos and still a little nervous to see to full extent of things to be honest. Each day passing is one more of recovery and one day closer to being hands on with my projects again. Some friends have offered help and my mom has been great too, been here off and on every day since it happened, even the Miss' is ready to get even more hands on and dirty with things. Its always great to see friends and family pulling together in support.

Speaking of family, the niece and mom in' came up yesterday so we went to a local alpaca farm that was having something of an open house. Around 200 alpaca and a few other interspersed animals.

Gonna finish up with free chickens.
Neighbor drove by the other day and asked if I wanted his last 3 layers when he moved which will be soon. Couldn't pass it up so I've got a bit of time to get something situated and I'll have 3 more laying hens before winter.

Take your time, grief of loss applies here, as well as pain and phyical healing....hang in there.
I'm not much with words of comfort but you have all my empathy and what energy I can send that far.

Specialist went well, treated me a lot better. Surgery in the next few days to take care of any exposed bone. Sounds unpleasant but I won't feel a thing and its forward progress.
Just been taking pictures of the birds as I pass by them the last few days, I'll try and get some up here soon.

There will be warning before injury pics. Surgery was tough and very uncomfortable for a few days after. More bearable now but there is still this knawing pain. Meds are helping but anyways.

I'd love to ad more pictures but every time I try it reloads my whole browser.
Off to find someone to help.

Hang in there man!

Had some hand surgery 3-4 years ago to rebuild thumb to wrist joint,
had pins in for 2 months with plastic removable splint and minimal PT,
then they removed pins and full PT started.

Took 18 months to get the new full range of motion and finger, hand, forearm strength back.
Was a long haul with lots of one step forward two steps back.

I couldn't imagine pins. This is uncomfortable enough. Recovery of my dexterity with this hand will be interesting, two contact points with how i hold my knife no longer exist. For now tho its just a day at a time. Check ups in a week to see where progress is.
