My week just got worse

The gate blew open and my beloved Westie got in the chicken yard. He got one hen, she has a tear under one wing and can't use one leg. This is a crappy week at my house.

I rinsed the wound with saline, coated it with antibiotic, and gave her some rescue remedy in the water. She's isolated, but doesn't want to be. Her limp is less pronounced. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I hope she gets better. My Westie almost got one of my chicks yesterday. she flew out of the pin when i opened the door. as soon as she landed he pounced on her. my screaming his name made him hesitate enough for me to rescue her before ne damage was done.

Glad to know my Westie is not the only chicken chaser. Grrr. I want to be mad at him, but I know it's just the breed. The hen seems to be mending quickly, limp is less pronounced and she wants to get back with the flock, so hopefully it's a superficial wound.
