My whistling blue cochin

My month-old blue cochin has been whistling a lot lately. I can hear her in the brooder all day long. She whistles like a turkey.

It was starting to drive me crazy, so I just grabbed her and the BR chick. They're sitting quietly on my chest as I write this.

OK I stand corrected. The cochin is trying to dustbathe on my chest.... The BR is trying to sleep.

ETA: she isall settled in now (the blue cochin) and I think she just was a little cold. Maybe she wanted me?? Getting sleepy.... 2 sleeping chicks on your chest will make you doze off every time!!

Chicks are so much fun. Sounds like your chick is real tame. The first time mine did that (dirt bathe) in the box I thought they were having some sort of fit.

She's a super sweetie. She's the first one I pick up when they're outside because she runs right up to me. She does peep/whistle a lot, which I think may be a behavior related to wanting a warmer creature for cuddling. As soon as I put her in my shirt she quiets down quite a bit.
