I hope your crested duck is doing better.....
I had bought a bunch of eggs that had all different breeds and there were crested ducklings in there. It was very nice to see the crested ducklings but only one lived out of all the crested that hatched. It was sad to see the deformities that some of the ducklings had. They could not hold their heads up due to so much brain being outside of the scull. Those breedings cause open holes in the scull and the brain comes out of the hole and it causes ducklings to die. When they breed crested duck they need to breed regular duk to crested duck to help so this opening in the brain does not cause the opening in the brain. Thought this might help you understand what might be going on with you girl....
Even an adult can have the open hole in the scull and it not show up until older. This is about all I know on this. I know you care about her and best of luck with her.
