We took our white rocks to be processed today. They were 12 weeks old. We thought they would be bigger, they looked more like fryers. We had always bought the store chickens that that are real plump. What did we do wrong? Are those cornish rocks at the store? Did they need to be older?

White rock, dont grown as fast or as large as cornishX rock, yes thats what most are in the stores.

12 week would be a good age for white rock 14 at most.

broiler feed should be fed 24/7 to white rock.

How long would they be on the chick starter before i put them on the broiler feed? I now have 5 BO and 5 Delawares that are a week old that will be butchered in 12 weeks.

I started my Heavies on 30% protein Turkey Starter for 4 weeks and just moved the to Broiler Grower at 24% (I think).
