My whole flock is all of a sudden spooked.

I fed my chickens first thing this morning and everything was fine. I went back out to feed them some cantaloupe leftovers and seeds and the whole flock was afraid of me. They ran everywhere away from from me and even into my shop where I had to shoo them out TWICE! I've had my flock about nine months and this has never happened. Will a hawk or something like that spook them so bad they are even afraid of me? There are a lot of hawks this time of year on the Texas Coast. I hope they don't stop laying eggs ......they just started.

I was wearing plaid pajama bottoms.....that's the only thing different....they've seen me in everything though. Someone told me a big cat has been hanging around, but I've seen my chickens run a cat off. Maybe it was the the PJ's?

That was it....the plaid pajama bottoms....I changed into my jeans and they were fine.

I guess that is why we call them...chickens!!

Too funny.

Last week I was putting up a new chain in my fun for their feeder and you might think I was hanging an Anaconda from the hook. Yesterday I was working in the garage and my six girls came in, as they often do. I dropped a file on the floor and they scattered in every direction.

You'd be "chicken" too if as many critters like to eat you as like to eat chickens. I call it just being careful.

That's funny! I did the same thing today too. I had to go put jeans on. I thought they were going to kill themselves throwing themselves into the wire sides. Mine were pink plaid....I really didn't think they were THAT bad! LOL

Yesterday, mine spent the entire day in the coop.

I know there had to have been a hawk out there somewhere.

Chickens spook real easy.

I'm still chuckling about your plaid pajamas....
