Ozzie, who is 7 months old, likes to jump up on the chair I am sitting on and preen my hair.

He's very gentle, and will take a piece of my hair and run it through his mouth.

I've never seen a rooster do this. Is this normal?

How old is he and how long have you had him?

While you may enjoy this behavior, beware, he is blurring the boundary between human and chicken. It's often those roos who are pampered and babied, handled a lot who turn into human aggressive roos.

Yes. I am concerned about this as well. In this photo, he is above me. I'd like to continue being able to handle him and touch him without giving the wrong message.

My roo has always done this, if I let him too close to my face. As a baby it was adorable and endearing, but now as a cockerel learning to control his hormones, I prefer that he keep his distance until he outgrows the adolescent phase. The pullets will try to beak my hair if it's near them too. Maybe it looks like string to them.
