My young Rooster preens my hair: is this normal?

Ozzie, who is 7 months old, likes to jump up on the chair I am sitting on and preen my hair.

He's very gentle, and will take a piece of my hair and run it through his mouth.

I've never seen a rooster do this. Is this normal?

Be careful... They don't mean to hurt you but they can peck your eyes.

Also very cute he is preening!!! Maybe wear some goggles or glasses to be safe though.

I think it’s something that not every chicken would do but I would think of it as a good thing.
Obviously he’s comfortable with you.
He sounds like a sweet guy.
Just be careful of your face being close to him just in case he decided to peck.

LOL! this is SO funny! I think that he is just fine, but he loves ya! I wish that my rooster was that friendly with me!

That's what I was worried about. I do not try to baby him. I make him get out of the way when I come around, but I was concerned that he was sitting higher than me.

I've had him his whole life. He hatched on December 26, 2017.

Yes. I am concerned about this as well. In this photo, he is above me. I'd like to continue being able to handle him and touch him without giving the wrong message.

My roo has always done this, if I let him too close to my face. As a baby it was adorable and endearing, but now as a cockerel learning to control his hormones, I prefer that he keep his distance until he outgrows the adolescent phase. The pullets will try to beak my hair if it's near them too. Maybe it looks like string to them.
