You know how teens are. They hear their friends talking or see things on TV. They think they know it all when they really just know enough to be dangerous.
I'm sure he picked up on someone talking about breeding to a barred rock to make sex links.
Just set him down and explain Plymouth barred rocks are not just any old rock but a beautiful breed of chicken.

This might turn into a whole new thread topic.I once watched a cockerel attempting to breed a coffee can. He kept falling off. Some one commented that if he was successful, the next generation would yield a hen who would lay high test eggs. No morning coffee needed for that "morning wake up".
