My 6-week-old chick has been acting strange since yesterday. She’s been shaking her head, jumping around, and gasping for air as if trying to vomit. I’ve noticed clear mucus in her mouth, and I’m concerned she might have something stuck in her throat, but I can’t find anything when I check. Her crop looks empty, and she hasn’t eaten since yesterday. I’ve separated her from the others to keep an eye on her. The other chicks are all acting normal, so I’m really worried. I can’t afford to take her to the vet right now, so I’m hoping someone here might have experienced something similar or have suggestions. I’ve tried giving her a tiny bit of coconut oil and water with electrolytes, but she still won’t eat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

What have they had besides their chick crumbles assuming it's some treat? If it's anything other than scrambled eggs, they need grit to process it in their crop and gizzard. She could be having a crop issue.

I'd try some probiotic water to her right side of her beak, just a drop at a time so you don't aspirate her.
