A virus can travel on a speck of dust or even in your nose or your hair. It is frighteningly easy to spread pathogens (bacteria, virus, mycoplasma) from sick chickens to healthy ones. If you prefer to treat your birds and accept the fact that they will likely carry the disease and can possibly give it to any new birds, you might consider Denagard which is a medication that has been a bit more effective on the mycoplasmas.
Also, how did you get the diagnosis of MG? There are about 6 respiratory diseases that chickens can get, and they can all look very similiar. The only way you can know for sure is to have a bird tested. It may be free if you call your State Veterinarian. If you have not had one tested, you may not even know what you are treating Just my opinion. Good luck.
