Curious. I'm definitely reading too much and freaking myself out regarding contagious disease.

Have you had any experience with using the Mycoplasma Vaccine (killed vaccine)? If so, how did it go? What are the side effects? Does it cause false positive Mycoplasma test results if tested? Will it show up in eggs/pass through to future chicks? At what age did you vaccinate? Did you keep up with boosters?

Did you find any info on the mycoplasma vaccine?
I found some info just looking online. You can vaccinate at any age (of course earlier the better, but not before 2 weeks old), the key thing is to make sure and do the booster 4-5 weeks after the initial dose. I *think it has to be done annually. I purchased some, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to go ahead with it. I'm not clear if it'll make for a false positive on a test, I assume it would -if they test for antibodies, then if the vaccine was successful, they'd test positive for Mycoplasma. Looks like the big commercial meat bird people do it, not so much "backyard " people. My vet is a general livestock vet, and really doesn't know too much about chickens specifically, so not really a good resource for info. That's why I ask here and look online. :)
