I haven't gotten my chicks yet, but so far I've been very happy with their customer service.

I think their shipping is high compared to Ideal. I ordered 4 chicks and they arrived the day after shipping. One was weak and died within a few days and they quickly refunded the cost of the chick.
The ones I ordered from Ideal are robust.

I ordered from them and received 8 chicks, one was weak and died within a few days. I was happy with them overall, the chicks shipped when promised and the remaining 7 are doing great, 3 weeks old now with no further issues. I don't fault them for the one dying, things happen.

If the small order thing is why you are considering them, you can also do a small order from Meyer Hatchery in Ohio directly.

I have ordered from them several times and was very pleased. Ordering takes a while, but they sex the bantams (a little expensive) but worth it. They use heat pads in the boxes so a million roos are not thrown in. Customer service is fantastic too!

I agree with Chickie Mamma 100%. A yr ago we ordered 2 Silkie hens (as well as other breeds). The 2 silkie hens turned out to be roos. MPC told us they'd give us a hen for free whenever I ordered from them again - I was pleased with that.

Hi, I ordered 9 chicks from MPC in late March. My ship date is June 1st.

The only thing is, I ordered from them b/c they are located in Conn. and I'm in S.E Mass. I figured the closer the better right? I've read that they aren't a hatchery but a middleman for the hatcheries. I suppose this really isn't a big deal, but now I'm a bit nervous as to when and where my chicks will be coming from.

I'm relieved to read about the positive experiences from people on the board though.
