MyPetChicken hatchery

TSC is Tractor Supply Company. They have several pullet bins to choose from. Most of their pullets are sexlinks so they can tell by color at hatch if they are female instead of vent sexting. It also has a 98% rate of being female.

We have a tractor store right here in our town. I'll check it out, thank you so much for your information.

I have never had any bantams, but I got four chicks from MPC last year. A Barred Plymouth Rock, a Rhode Island Red, a Salmon Faverolle, and a Columbian Wyandotte. I got them at the end of April, so it was still kinda cold where I live in NJ. There was a screw up at the post office (not MPC's fault), so they didn't arrive until a day later than they should have. When we opened the box, all four chicks were very wobbly. The Salmon Faverolle was so weak it died within a couple days. The Columbian Wyandotte died about a week later. The Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red were the stronger ones of the four, and they did make it. Chicks I have gotten from Tractor Supply Company and a local farm have been much stronger than any of those four were, so I would just be very careful ordering a small amount of birds. If you live in NorCal, the coldness shouldn't be such an issue, especially since it is later in the season. But I imagine bantams are even more fragile than my chicks were, and I'd hate to see you order three, just to have a couple die. You don't want to be left with a single chick. :( Honestly, if anywhere within about 3 hours driving distance had the breeds I wanted, I would go out of my way to get them there. It's just safer for the birds in my experience.

Thank you for all you've told me about your situation. It''s very sad to pay and lose a chick or more. So sorry for the delay. I agree, within 3 hrs go and get the chicks.

We bought two Welsummer's and one just died after we got it. I think it was to cold, but the other one lived after we thought she was gone too

Thank you for all your insight, I do appreciate it.

About getting 3 chicks, we can't order only 3 even from MyPet.Chicken as to their limit. Our zip code says we have to order 9 chicks. So, that option is out.
