Myshire guarantees a 50% hatch rate. If you get less, they will replace them, even if it's not their fault.10 out of 30 shipped quail eggs. Is that avg for them?
Heck no.10 out of 30 shipped quail eggs. Is that avg for them?
What you are saying is what is considered the standard. The side benefit of candling every day is the brief cool down that the eggs get similar to what would happen if they were being hatched naturally.Ok I hate to be THIS person, but you really should not candle the eggs every single day. Day 7, day 10 and lockdown are the ONLY days you need to candle. (or just day 10 and lockdown) candling is a bit different than hand turning, as an example bc with candling, you're taking those few extra few minutes to look for veins.
Also. Do not open the incubator at all while they are hatching. I had to do it just yesterday with my newest clutch because two were struggling for some reason and I wanted to get the older chicks out and it ended up costing me two other unhatched eggs.(I think. They may have already been dead)
I've ordered from myshire twice (well, bought 30 eggs and won 30 eggs) and both times the eggs were in the mail over a week.
1st time was 14 out of 30 with 12 surviving. But it was my first time ever hatching quail eggs.
this recent time was 22 out of 30 with 19 hatching and 18 surviving.
