Myshire Jumbo Mix—S30/F19/H10

I bought 3 5 week old birds when I got my eggs in the 9th and wound up buying a 30lb bag of game bird starter bc that's all they had at tractor supply haha.

Does feed go bad?
Yes feed can go bad but I would not worry about that bag of feed going bad anytime soon. As long as you keep it in a dry place it should be fine for your eggs that are hatching about to hatch.

@Kiki do you just use a flashlight for candling?
Yes but I find that at the end of the incubation period, like today, my phone flashlight is just as good because you can only pretty much see in the air cell at the end.

I have something very similar to this I don't think it's the exact model but it's very close.

My flashlight just starting screwing up this week.
I haven't been able to figure out yet if I can fix it. I might have this being delivered on Monday.

@Nabiki took this with her new candler the other day:

Hope you can fix your flash light! That candler you linked looks cool. I'm too scared to open my LG after the egg pipped but 72 hours after hatch I'll try candling what's left.
I'd open it in a heartbeat and not think twice about it.
I'd grab one egg from each corner of the Bator to candle if I were you. It really doesn't take but one second to open it grab an egg and close it.

I tried it 1 looked like yours and 3 I couldn't see through at all. The guy I bought from gave me a discount but he wasn't ensuring that they were all fertile.

Okay so I find that usually if you cannot see into the egg at all then there's a good chance that it is full with a chick.
Every now and then I get a couple of eggs that are really hard to candle because the dark spots on the egg are just too dark... Or the shell is perhaps a tiny bit thicker.

I had my bator open long enough to drop the humidity like 12% hope I didn't screw up

When you open your incubator just be quick.
Open it grab an egg and close it. It shouldn't take more than a second or two.

I would not worry about the humidity dropping.
