Hi,
I apologize if I published this in the wrong category, but I really wasn't sure where it is supposed to go.

Basically, I have been finding dead chickens every now and then in my garden. These chickens aren't even my chickens. These chickens are from the "forest" nearby, as I have seen a lot of them there from the same breed as they all look similar.

Every now and then, I see one of them dead inside my garden where my other chickens and ducks are living, and when I check, they have no wounds and no feathers are around them or anywhere there, but they're dead. Last time my neighbour said he saw a rooster dead in his house and thought it was mine but I told him it isn't mine. He sent me a picture of the rooster, which I have attached.

I am not sure if their death in my garden could be due to a disease, and if so I am afraid that spreads to my chickens.

Thank you very much.

You picked the right category to post this.

I would definitely worry if I were you... is there a way you can block off these unknown chickens from mingling with your flock? The fact that they're just dying without any visible injury is alarming and points to some sort of disease, possibly.

Edited to add: it doesn’t look like Malaysia has a problem with bird flu like the US does but there is a very serious disease called Newcastle Disease that is contagious for birds.

If you want to know what’s wrong with the chickens I would get in touch with a local center for wildlife and ask some questions. Maybe they know what you’re dealing with or where to examine the dead bird the next time if you see one.
