Hi, one of my girls was feeling down yesterday, and after tlc she's perked back up. Just noticed this strange growth near wear her tail feathers come from...

Ummm....pictures would help a lot, is she otherwise ok?

Pictures would help, but you may be seeing the uropygial or preen gland. That is where they get oil from to distribute to the feathers while they are preening/grooming their feathers. Pictures below.
